Title: BowlersMAP/DigiTrax
Post by: raiderh20boy on January 12, 2008, 05:40:54 AM
I am thinking about purchasing BowlersMAP/DigiTrax to use in our shop. I'm not sure what cameras to get with the wide varity available. Anyone have any sugestions? Do you like the system? Have both? Do you use only DigiTrax for you higher average customers to show consistancy and actual difference in ball path with different balls. Cost / 1/2 hr or per hr? I had the luxury of having Kim Terrell-Kerney doing this at my bowl but now that she is in Delaware I have a lot of bowlers asking me to go out on the lanes for lessons.
Any other programs being used out there???

I use the Digital VCR version of this:

Dave Hill owns the company. Prices are very reasonable. Tell him that I recommended you check it out.

You might try contacting Rod Ross about the programs and the cameras.  He is probably the most knowledgeable person in the country.  If you contact Ebonite they should be able to get you in contact with him.

Thanks to the 2 replys!!
Gary, did you compare before purchasing? What camera(s) do you use? I was told the DigiTrax is like the CATS. Will yours chart ball path? Last, do you like the system or would you reconsider if you saw something that your present system dosen't offer. One other question, in the description it says VCR, do you really need a VCR? That seems to be a little out dated. Thanks, Gene

Smash49, Thanks for your advice. I actually went to Rod's shop last Wed and asked about BowlersMAP and DigiTrax. I really like the 2 systems but was wondering if there was anything else that other Pro Shops were using and what was their feelings. Just wondering do you have the system?
I agree with you about Rod. He is the person who wrote the program for B/M and DigiTrax> He told me that Ebonite has used these 2 for the testing of their last few ball models instead of CATS. That alone has me leaning this direction.

ANY MORE FEEDBACK????

I have Dartfish and do not use it that much any more.  I have been looking at Bowlersmap for a while.  I watched Ron Hoppe do some demos and have seen a number of Rod's demos.  I'm sure there have been other programs like it.  Dartfish is used in Diving and gymnastics.
