No 1 really gets it
« on: July 25, 2005, 04:41:39 AM »
Here is an example to clear everything up about the technology in bowling balls now.
If you give a Top of the line ball from any company to an open bowler that fits them perfectly do you think they will shoot 200 right out of the box.

Its not the technology its the bowlers.

If you give a 700 horse power Mustang Gt500
to a 15 year old the first time they drive do you think they are going to reck.

The lane conditions and the pins are the problems not the technology.

And that isn't technology??? If you give the same 15 year old a horse and buggy (house ball) the odds are much much less that he can wreck it, but the odds are that he will need to learn something - just like he would with the mustang (high performance ball).

The ball doesn't do the scoring itself - but with moderate guidance, and a MINIMUM of skill, a high performance ball will definitely outscore a house ball.

Exactly there is some skill involved.  Its not like the balls have magnets in them that make the pins fall.  Its still how the operater uses it.

No one has EVER said that lane conditions and pins are not a problem.  It is a combination of conditions, pins, gutters/kickbacks AND ball technology.  It would be impossible to fix all at once, so it's time to address one problem at a time.
