Title: Bowling Backpacks/Bag question
Post by: spazBowls on December 08, 2016, 12:03:00 PM
I am a collegiate bowler and use 2 three ball tournament totes.
These things have minimal space for accessories. I am able to slip a couple abralon pads in the side and a towel, but I carry a lot of crap. So I started using a little string backpack to throw all my stuff into. It was fine at the start, but I keep accumulating more and more crap. So now I'm at the point where it's a pain to use for a few reasons. One, when you put so much stuff into it it's bulging and stabbing me in the back. Two, since everything goes into the same compartment, sometimes it takes me a while to fish out the right thing I need, or worse I am forced to take everything out just to get the one item I am looking for. So my question to you is:
What's the best bowling backpack?
Right now I am leaning towards the Hammer or Motiv. The storm one seems kind of small but unfortunately most websites don't show the insides of the backpack so I can't see if there's space to put an Ipad (I use to track scoring etc for tournament play), accessories, possibly shoes, etc.

You could use zip lock bags to organize items inside your backpack that way you're not having to go through everything to find something

I'd go buy a nice all black Samsonite back pack....should have a ton of pockets, be half the price if u can go to an outlet store..and be tech friendly.

I'm glad I'm pushing 30 and don't have to look cool.

You don't have to what everyone else is doing if it doesn't make sense.

I'll dig into my buddies motiv one tonight and let u know what inner pockets I see.

I use a two-ball tote and keep all my accessories in it.  I have small food containers in different sizes to organize stuff inside, like this:

I can also keep my shoes in it along with anything else I may need.  You can use any type of bag that suits your needs, but two-ball totes are pretty cheap and you won't get it confused with anything else.

Brunswick, DV8, and Radical have new backpacks out as well. I use the Brunswick one for tournaments and I like the ease of keeping everything close when I go pair to pair. Theres a video review of the backpack on youtube if you're interested in the space inside...best part is dude crams it full of all sorts of stuff, extra double totes, etc and really shows how much it can fit...

I picked this up last night, and I love it. Separate shoe compartment, 6 or 7 separate small compartments, a bag to store Abralon. Bought a plastic sterilite container to keep stuff in. Boom.

I used a JanSport or my Quicksilver (with cooler front pocket) backpack one season along with my two ball tote. The JanSport had several pockets for me to store every thing I needed, including my diner too :D

I had space for my preferred toilet tissue, cause the bowling alley uses 2000 grit sandpaper for toilet tissues.

I also carried my flask with my preferred bourbon, which the bowling alley didn't carry. Woodford Res. Not too sweet like Makers, not too spicy like Bulliet.

The Motiv and DV8 backpacks are the same and good.  I would opt for either one of them.
