Bowling alley in garage
« on: March 16, 2007, 09:08:13 AM »
A while ago I read a thread about a guy that built a lane in his basement. Today I ran across this about a guy that built a lane in his garage with a pinsetter. I thought I would share it with everybody.

I have thought about building a practice lane in my basement. No pins, just a lane tp practice my delivery.
I have about a 25' run along one wall. The lane would run the legnth of it, and then transition a few feet up the wall (like a 1/4 pipe). Ball rolls up the wall, then back out for you to stop with your foot.Maybe some low side boards to keep it from rolling off of the sides on the return trip.

I wouldn't exactly call that a "lane" in his garage.  He has a pinsetter and maybe 10 feet of lane.

What's the point?  Did you watch the video of his wife bowling?  The ball launches into the pins.

If you're just doing it to do it, okay I guess.  If I was going to go through all that trouble, I'd figure a way to build the rest of the lane and make it portable.....I'd have that lane extended all the way down the driveway!  He looks like he has enough room to get a decent length of lane: http://www.tim-wallace.com/viewpicture.asp?ID=20

It really makes as much sense as building a real full sized lane and then setting the pins up by hand.

At least with Buggs41, he can practice his approach and release.
