Bowling this summer?
« on: April 14, 2008, 04:38:09 AM »
If so, what are you bowling in?  PBA league?  Regular old league?

Personally, I'm bowling in a Vegas league and I'm VERY excited.  The team is going to be me, my Aunt and Uncle, and my Mom.  I'm excited because my Aunt and Uncle are VERY good bowlers (Curt Aemisegger, look him up on bowl.com if you like) and it will be a NICE change from my kinda crappy normal team.  (We're finishing dead last...it's a team with relatives from my wife's side, and I'm really the only one who takes it seriously.)  I actually had to run the numbers and make sure that we came in under the max entering average.

I'll be bowling in two leagues this summer.  One is a PBA Experience league, which I'm really looking forward to.  That league did a great job of sharpening my game last year and made me a much better bowler.  I'm also bowling in a Have-A-Ball league with a friend of mine who works part-time in the pro shop at that alley.  He's still doing youth stuff since he's quite a bit younger than me (probably 17 I guess?), so we could bowl together in this league, and he needed one more person to fill out his team.  It should be relaxing and fun, plus I get a bowling ball out of the deal.  Though I have no idea what ball I want to get.  I think I have too many bowling balls as it is already!  Who knows, I may end up giving the ball to my mom or dad.

I have no use for a Have a Ball league either.  I have too many as it is!  If I could afford to bowl 2 leagues, I would bowl in a PBA league on Tuesdays as well.  As it is, I can only afford one, and I'd like to have a good time and have a shot at WINNING a league for once.

I'll be doing a PBA league this summer, possibly also a mixed league if my financial advisor thinks we can afford it.

He is awesome.  It's a little embarassing for me and my little old 185 THS average, but it sure is fun to watch a guy who can REALLY bowl.  He bowls in Senior Regionals in the midwest.

I actually have my choice of three different PBA experience leagues.  I'll probably enter two of them and skip the THS completely for the summer.

Im still youth, but I usually don't bowl THS over the summer. The last couple of years my only summer league was a Sport Shot Junior Gold League. Not a PBA Experience, it was just a Sport compliant league.

This year im definately bowling Sport and PBA Leagues only, although where, when, and whether Youth or Adult is still up for debate.

I am bowling in an adult/junior league with my 5 year old daughter and my wife is bowling with our 7 year old son.  I was going to bowl at another house in a PBA league, but, they are shutting down the alley a week after the league is supposed to start (next month)!  My normal house (where we are bowling with the kids) doesn't offer a men's summer PBA league, only an adult/junior PBA league (I've never heard of that) and I don't think I should sign up my 5 or 7 year old for a PBA shot!  I guess I'll wait until the fall to see if they are offering a men's PBA league...
