Thickness of Brunswick thumb tape
« on: January 28, 2010, 01:25:15 AM »

I am going to order a roll of 100 piece of black thumb tape. How thick is the Brunswick 3/4" precut black tape. I have have Ebonite brand but is thicker and I want to stay with the thiner tape. The company only has the brunswick brand in 100 pieces.

I'm not 100% on this, but the last batch of black Brunswick 1" tape I had was as thick, if not thicker than regular white tape.

For the most part I've stuck with 3/4 white and black tape from "The Bowler's Tape" simply because that's what's commonly available locally.  The white is thicker than the black with them.

The pro shop did have The bowler's tape and think it was made for AMF, but now all I can find local is Ebonite and Vise brand which is thicker.

Give Valentino's Franken Tape a try. That tape is super thin, never leaves a sticky residue in the thumb hole, adhears extremely well, and is removable and reuseable again.

As JMac stated, the Brunswick black is as thick if not thicker than white tape. I like it because its really easy to remove or otherwise work with. If you want to go thin, Frankentape is awesome.

Well the new Brunswick tape that everyone I have been talking to has been getting for a while now is so thin it is hard to work with. Everyone that has tried it has hated it, along with myself

I just got some brunswick black and don't like it.. it is very thin and like said hard to place in the hole.. I like the thickness of the vise tape but it is way to firm and stiff and pulls itself away from the hole.. I heard there was a recall on the vise tape.. not sure if they have fixed the issue..

I would stay away from the brunswick if you want something thick.

I'll have to second the Frankentape. Slick, thin, and easy to insert and remove.
