I am kinda confused on some of the terminology, I am looking at a list of bowling balls that are on excel that i got on here... and there are terms like
1000 abralon
4000 abralon sanded
4000 grit
500 matte
500 grit matte
can someone please clarify the difference? thanks

The numbers are the grit level to which the ball was sanded. (Be aware that 600 grit is not the same as P600 grit which is a European grit measurement. A "P" preceding the grit level has a different meanign than with the "P".)
"Abralon" is one type of abrasive. 2 others are wet/dry sandpaper and Scotch Brite nylon pads.
"Matte" and "dull" for all intents and purposes are the same thing - not polished or touched up after sanding. SOmetimes "dull" is meant for very rough sanding levels, for bowling balls, like 320 - 600 or 800 grit. Matte can be use for finer levels of grit; usually from 1000 to 4000 grit.
