Clean it after every time the you use it.
Keeping oil from soaking into your bully
is the best way to extend the life of it
or any other new ball.

I clean my bowling balls after every set to make sure they retain OoB condition for as long as possible.

Oh..

for me, i prefer light cleaning after every set of games, and maybe a heavy cleaning(like baking, or using spinner with some cleaners) every 2 weeks or so. I believe intensive cleaning might spoil the coverstock..

cool.. thanks.

anyway, i've used the clean 'n' dull on my Columbia Wired, its has a pearlized cover. but not sure why the track area seems to dull, the difference can be seen within the ball.

is it due to the ball itself, or i didnt maintain it properly?

Clean N Dull is a great cleaner but it won't do anything to repair the surfaced if it has been dulled by use. For that yoou'll need a polish to bring the gloss back to the cover.

DO NOT BAKE YOUR BALL unless the ball has completely lost it's entire reaction. Most of the resins in the ball have issues with heat. Heat will break them down and render them useless. Bake a resin ball too often and you have a nice urethane.

Doc...why avoid the alcohol? Acetone I understand but why avoid alcohol? I still wipe everything down with a quick dose of alcohol to remove the dirt and grime from the pits then I use a regular cleaner to get the oil off.

Not sure, maybe he meant stay away from using it as the only cleaner, since it doesn't get rid of oil like something like clean n dull, just dirt and crud on the surface?

Perhaps Andy...I am cheap and I don;t want to spend the $$$ on Clean N DUll to remove dirt and such from my ball. A $1 bottle of alcohol will do that for me. Save the expensive stuff for the lane oil and belt marks :-)

I've no idea why the polished on my wired, especially the track area seems to wear off. and the ball became much agressive, supposely the ball should be for light oil now i find it hard to control tt ball.

any stuffs i can polish up the ball without buying a new polish?

The Wired was never meant as a light oil ball. It is an aggressive core with a pretty aggressive particle coverstock....definitely not a light oil combination.

You will need something with a polish in it such as Storms ProActa Shine or even their Xtra SHine in order to keep the gloss on the ball.

I know the ball wasn't for light, but my lack of revs make it a light oil ball.

er, I try using the Clean 'n' Dull on my wired yesterday, followed the instructions using a damp cloth to clean the ball after using the cleaner.

I do get the tackiness but the ball seemed to dull a lot. it's really a lot. I guess I need to get a polish soon.

any polish to recommend? I've using my hands to do the cleaning, not on a spinner, therefore I need a polish which can shine without a spinner there.

I clean mine after each 3-game set(on league nite), and 6-game set(practice).
