filling a spot in my arsenal???
« on: August 29, 2009, 02:10:32 PM »
I am trying to replace a GameBreaker drilled pin down in my arsenal. Not much to choose from with regards to medium strength symmetric cores with all the new equipment out. Not much in the low RG area also. Any suggestions? I may have to try an asymmetric ball, such as the AMF Clutch. I'd really like to find a medium strength, symmetric core, solid reactive cover with a low RG. I'm open to any ball company. I'm not too interested in getting another GameBreaker either. Thanks!!

Pin Slasher, although discontinued you might find one, (same core obviously, very low RG) although the cover not super weak, not super strong either.  Pin Slasher a little more angular than the Game Breakers. Furious by Storm might be an option, little higher RG though and little less diff so will be longer/more angular with same layout from the your GB. Your trying to replace the pin down Game Breaker and get the same ball motion or are you looking for a slightly different ball motion?  Asymmetrics roll totally different so that could be an adventure for you coming from a GB, lol.

I would check out a 900G Lunatic with the polish knocked off or Maybe a hammer acid

USBC is also changing the the min RG values next year and I think the only ball that it would effect are the GB/Pin Slashers as the they are some of the lowest RG balls on the market I think.  They will be grand fathered in of course, but I'll miss having some of the low RG balls in my back in the future as they roll pretty good for me.

I'm looking for a similar ball motion. I had the pin down under my bridge. It rolled early and did not jump too quickly off the dry. It just seems that most of the NEW equipment has higher RGs and more designed for skid/flip type reactions.  I like the control of big cores and a smooth transition from oil to dry.

The Dimension from Storm has very similar numbers. The cover may be a little stronger, but should be close. Also, Hammer Burn or Onyx vibe with the right surface should work as well.
