Why is it now day everyone is so brand loyal to the companies?
You don't see too many people with multiple company balls in their bags.
If you are not being paid or your balls are being comp from that company why limit yourself
-
For me its being able to easily switch balls and know what your getting reaction wise. For me, some stuff hooks way too much and some stuff just pukes for me. I like to stick with a company so its easier for me to transition from ball to ball and not get lost.

for me i used to be brand loyal to hammer then dv8 and now storm. When i was with hammer i loved the taboo series and mostly threw that, dv8 came out with their divas and nightmares and stuck with their brand for awhile, but the thing is both brands were very inconsistent for me. If i miss just a little left or right it could be a washout, weak 10, or 4 pin, very touchy on how accurate i needed to be. With storm, i threw one ball and the error margin was larger, more continuous. So then i got another storm ball, same results, and then another and then another. Mostly everything had more room for error than the other brands. Basically what I'm saying is me being brand loyal to storm is because i don't have to be as precise (which i know is bad) as the other brands, more room for error, better carry, and average sky rocketed.
Oh should also put during this time I have tried other brands such as motiv and other ebonite brands. Just didnt work for me especially the famous venom shock that everyone loves.

simplicity. saves money and it works.

Bingo…..
I was (almost) exclusively Lane#1 for many years. A few years ago, I started building an arsenal primarily across Columbia, Motiv, and Storm. It's grown to the point where I have a full top-to-bottom tournament quality line-up across each of the three brands. Which company I consider to be the best overall is the subject of another topic….
But what I've found in cherry picking across brands is that's it's too easy to buy too much and end up with too much overlap. When you focus on one brand, it's easier to fill gaps without guessing what another company ball is going to do. One brand really is simpler, and in most cases you can find everything you need without straying.
If I can ever wear out what I already own, I'll pick one company and stick with it.

For me it is not so much a loyalty thing as the fact I cant experiment with everything coming out, so I tend to watch for stuff from one company that looks like it will fit my needs. Not enough money to be made anymore to spend an arm and a leg on an arsenal that may have too many misses in it.

I did the same thing. I sold all of them and started fresh. To say I'm limiting myself is bull IMHO. I've cashed using one brand, paid for the balls and extra, so I'm good ;)

As many stated, simplicity. So much $htuff is released these days it's hard to keep up and match up sometimes one thing to the next.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Using only one company is smart because all companies build arsenals for their lines. From top to bottom, companies want you to only use their equipment!

I have balls from several different manufacturers. Last year I bought my first new ball in around ten years, and with so many companies and so many balls offered by each one, I think that, from now on I will stick with one.
I don't always understand all the bowling lingo and terminology, and I find that the Radical website is easy to understand in helping me decide which ball to purchase next.

Even before I was on staff I only tried to have one companies product in my bag. It is to hard to adjust with all those different covers and cores from multiple companies. The fewer variances you have in a aresenal the better.
On a side not, if you only throw one companies gear many people on this site will tell you your reviews are totally worthless. LOL

lmao aint that the truth mainzer

For the last few years, I have primarily stuck with a single brand. This is mostly because I found it easier to fill in holes with the arsenal and limit the guessing game.
When I was throwing balls from EBI (Track, Hammer, Ebonite- did not throw C300), I noticed that with the exception of the Track 505T at the time, the EBI stuff simply was not matching up well with my game.
Going Storm/Roto Grip gave me a much better look, and I definitely liked what I saw from them. But, I started switching to Motiv last year and really enjoy what I see. They're very similar though I notice the overall reactions are slightly smoother. Big plus is the cover durability where I don't have to bake them constantly to extract oil. Also, I like that Motiv only offers 3 balls in each performance line (except the low end). It means less overlap and less guessing in leagues or tournaments.
Currently, I have Motiv covering my medium-heavy, benchmark medium, and medium-light parts of the arsenal. I still use Roto Grip for my heavy oil balls but expect that to eventually change.

SPOT ON - I have been using ROTO GRIP now for about 5 years now. I truly believe that when you find a brand that works for you, why change? Except for bowler error, my game has improved since I have switched over. I am very confident using the R/G brand. I do not see myself changing to a different brand, anytime soon. I will stay with what is working! ;)

For me, sticking with one company was better, because I could fill needs with less research. I knew which balls in the line were stronger than other balls in the line. Basically simpler choices.

I know what the inverted fe core (road core, thunder line), I know the nucleus (cell line), if I couldn't tell you how many times I would make a ball change and blowiing a game..losing bracket money, side pot etc. This allows me to almost exactly know what I am switching to before I switch...
Like I know r2x is too much for my local house...anything weaker works extremely well...

When i started bowling, i was only throwing columbia 300, and my favorite ball at the time was the "RAGE". But when hammer came out with the widow series, i was hooked. I absolutely loved the widow pearl. Now i throw the assassain and threw a 300 last fall with it, and the red legend pearl. I also have a motiv panic, storm byte, and the first radical pearl.

You're only brand loyal if what you use works best for you and matches up best to your game.
