Hell yeah.  My friend Cassidy makes it.  I knew he could do it.  And a very nice person just to add to a great bowler.  He bowls part time on my Tuesday night team, so I am sure we will have lots to talk about soon.

As for Siders, he does deserve an at large bid in my opinion.  He has a lot of game in him.

Hoss, we all just asked why the hate.  Don't take it the wrong way.  We all have a right to our opinion.

I think the surprise of the tournament will be Rose Brown.  She looks very, very good.

Yeah she was on Jr. Team USA (I think just an additional member for that one tournament where there were certain age requirements?). But she is like 17 I believe. Brown, Galante, and Hamilton are all very young females doing well so far.

Man, I wish Galante made it! She's really awesome, I met her at Teen Masters and she was an awesome girl.

Galante was picked as a selection committee member.  She's on.

The picks for the guys were obviously warranted, however as Jonny said earlier, they should get rid of the selection committee picks.  How do the two people ahead of the two selection committee picks feel right now???  They bowled better than the picks, but aren't on the team.  I just don't like.

The National Selection Committee is charged with selecting those athletes who were most likely to create the strongest Team USA and Junior Team USA. The NSC has the latitude to consider any qualifications and criteria that the NSC believes would be helpful in creating the strongest team.

In evaluating athletes for possible selection as Team USA at-large members, the NSC considers at least the following criteria:

a. Performance: This includes all international competitions, as well as any USBC (ABC, WIBC, YABA, USA Bowling or collegiate) certified tournament within the previous three years.

b. Physical Game: This includes, but is not limited to, the many physical elements that comprise an athlete’s game, such as approach, arm swing, timing, release versatility (changing rotation and lay-down point) and speed control. It also includes, but is not limited to, the ability to play different angles, shoot spares, change equipment and adjust to different lane conditions.

c. Mental Game: This includes a variety of subjective factors. Examples are coachability, adaptability, practice regimen, ability to stay focused, attitude, commitment, ability to perform under pressure and sportsmanship.

d. Team Play: This includes, but is not limited to, the intangible, but crucial ability to be a positive factor in building rapport, confidence and winning attitude among the team members and coaches.

I actually prefer the selection process! Maybe you have a bad weekend but have proven yourself at other tournaments around the country/world! Why shouldn't you have been chosen?

proshop,
I knew someone would bring that up.  Bad week or not, these are the trials.  If your best wasn't good enough that week, then that is the way it goes.  I am sure there are many people who had an off week.  Why don't they deserve a selection???  There is always the next year.  I also feel as though there is too much politics involved in the selections.  I know what you posted is what should be used to help select the members, but I think those guidelines are not used at times.  Just an opinion.  I ask the same question back, why don't the people who bowled better deserve their shot to be on the team???

O - H - I - O  Oh shoot, they lost the championship in college football, but are well represented in the trials.  Great job guys.

It's great to see John Janawicz finally make it on team USA after all these tries. Kudos to him. He's literally one of the smartest people IN bowling... both in terms of performance and his knowledge about the sport is incredible. I have been lucky to pick his brain a few times.

Congratulations to all the people who made the team. It looks very solid this year.

Thanks everyone!  It's going to be a great year.  Everyone who is on the team deserves to be there. This is the first year that TUSA has expanded the team to 12 men and 12 women.  They are able to provide us with the best team possible, but unfortunately there will always be great bowlers left out.
