Title: Brunswick TPUX shoe size comparison
Post by: Dogtown on October 09, 2015, 09:31:31 AM
Looking at getting some of these shoes.  Was wondering how their shoe sizes compared to other brands like Dexter or Nike or whoever.

What has been your experience?

Thank you!

We have sold a number of pairs of them and I am on my second one now.  I find them to be sized about the same as the Dexter shoes although they do seem to fit me a little bit narrower.

These are great shoes, I really like mine. Same size as Dexter in length but like Chris says they feel a little narrower.

My Dexter SST 8's are size 11.  Needed a 11.5 for the TPU-X.

I wore a 11 1/2 SST8, tried to get the same size for the White limited edition TPU-X and they were too narrow in the toes. I went with a size 12 and they fit much better.

The brunswicks are probably accrurate and close to a normal pair of shoes.  Dexter's fit big!

Just some observations.

I've wore 12M Dexter's for years and just a few weeks ago got the TPU-X's.

Before I bought the TPU's, I tried on a pair a guy here had we are the same size. They fit nice and comfortable.

The new ones I got felt snug and slightly narrow at the toes (mainly on the right foot) compared to the ones I tried on.

As I have wore them, The snugness is starting to go away some. I'm guessing they are starting to conform to my foot shape. (The padding in them is pretty thick too)

Comparing them to my SST's , as someone else said. Dexter's have like a clown shoe toe, meaning a boarder toe compartment. The TPU's have a toe compartment more like my gym shoes.

That's why they feel narrow toward the toes IMO.

Nike bowling shoes?

Back in the day (circa the mid-1980s), it could be said Nike was responsible for bringing an athletic to bowling shoes. They were comfortable; they also had a tendency to be a bit slippery. It's a shame Nike got out of the market almost as soon as they entered.

Wasn't the Etonic brand like that as well?
