A friend of mine was looking at getting a new FLUX pearl. He was all excited until I told him the specs were different on the 14lb balls (which is what he throws).
He looked it up, and now he's afraid to get one, afraid it wont do what he has seen the 15lb balls do. He really likes the motion they make, but hasn't seen anyone throw a 14lb one.
the 15---2.55/.048/.014
the 14--2.62/.022/.008
Any opinions?

That differential difference is huge. I would be concerned as well.
-
Looks like the only option he has is to try a 15 (If he can handle the extra lb.) ;D

2 piece balls with no filler tend to have this issue.
900 global came out with the HB Extremes that have filler so the numbers are more consistent.
While the motion might not be exactly the same, the HB Extreme Pearl has been liked by a lot of people.
The taller core I think would retain energy a little more than the Flux Pearl but the S74 of the Extreme might offset the difference as the Flux is S72

That's a pretty drastic difference. I would pass and look for something else. The difference between a 15 and 14 lb. Honey Badger is vast from my experience and I don't think it would be much different with the Flux Pearl.
Most of the 2-piece balls in 14 lbs. are going to have pretty unappealing numbers for a ball you would want as at least a mid-strength option. Brunswick had to change the core shapes in their recent Quantum releases to keep differential at least close. RGs are still pretty far apart though.

Go Extreme Pearl. Trust me.

Believe he's Motivated, but not Global in the bowling world. He's into bowling, bowling balls and bowling equipment in general I figure. Trust me! (or not) ;) ;D

No, not back at Global, but I do know the core in the Extreme is MONEY. :)
I'm not shilling for anyone, but I still know the winners when I see them.

My thought would be try to get an Eagle USA, though it's more ball overall (on paper at least). Break core, S75 pearl.
But you should definitely trust Doom more than me ;D

The 15 lb. Eagle's are long gone! I could not find one a week ago.

A friend of mine is a storm staffer who throws 14. He wont use anything with a different core than the 15, so there is certainly an issue. On the other hand core shell matchup can be a big factor. There is a big enough variety of 14 lb balls out there that dont have a drastically different rg or diff from 15 that you should be able to find something that works well.
