Ball Choices...ball choices....
« on: August 27, 2017, 09:23:13 PM »
So my bag has a relatively fresh No Rules Pearl, a Jet Fighter, and a Cash.  Wife has authorized two bowling balls to start the season (and ya take em when she gives em! Lol). I've been heavy roto grip for a few years, but this go around again I am thinking more heavily elsewhere.  I typically like to stand left of the main traffic, but not way left (right hander).

On my radar is

Gold Widow Legend
Seismic Venator Evo
seismic Venator Evo hybrid
More cash
No rules exist.
Monster Lochness
Track mako.
And of course, no rules exist.

Don't need the lighter side of things, as I have a red Phantom as my spare ball, and a  messenger ti.  I do have, but usually stays home, a no rules, a critical, a freak, and a freak out.

I'm probably getting rid of my pursuit, Crux, versa Max, and two hyper cells. Not much point hanging on to those, I never use them anymore.

Of the above purchase possibilities, which would you suggest if you could get two?  Widow gold is a strong favorite, and kind of leaning to a more cash or a seismic.
Wise bowler told me once: K.I.S.S.   Keep it simple stupid.

Hyper Cell
Freak
Freak Out
Profit
Totally Defiant
Pursuit
C-System Versa Max
Defiant

Based on your info given I would suggest the Track Mako because it hooks a bunch.
The harder I try the harder they fall

Your first acquisition should be getting your balls back from your wife. Obtain that man Card back  !

Oh, there is mad money saved on the side for the in between"approved" purchases.  Just simply stating, it it's "above the table", you take it even if you don't need it!

in general I try to choose on what type of reaction I'm looking for on the lanes I bowl on but if you just want to spend money go for the one that gets you worked up the most.IDK....

I think the best bet to get something new that doesn't overlap a whole lot with your current equipment is something with a rounder shape and/or a mid-strength pearl. Of course it's hard to get a feel for what you really need without knowing your bowling style.

Anyways, there are a lot of balls out there able to cover that criteria. The first two that come to mind are the Forza SS and Honeybadger. The Kinetic Ruby and Vintage Inferno could be up there too. Not sure any of the balls on your radar fit too cleanly with that, although I'm not familiar with either Venator or the Lochness.

May want to consider the Marvel Pearl. For me it is a little stronger than the NRP. I throw primarily Storm/Roto and love this ball. Strong Symmetrical pearl has been missing for a while :) Good Luck
