Royjak, could be strategy on the part of your opponents to break down the oil pattern on your line.  Nothing wrong with that or if they see its working for you, they are trying it themselves.  I have done this to opponents and have had opponents and teammates do it as well.  If you are hitting a certain line and its working and they are struggling with their shot, who wouldnt try it?  If it doesn't work for them, they are still trying to compete by taking your shot away or being patient hoping their shot will come in on that line.  Sometimes bowlers have to be patient and let the shot come to them and for some it means the oil needs to be broken down more than for others.  It is about the only way to play defense in bowling.  Remember its a game and if its a tournament or a league it is a competition with the objective being to win and do your best so dont feel dissed.  Actually consider it a compliment, you have figured out the shot and they are just trying to do what you are having success with and compete with you even if it means breaking down your shot.

I personally feel like they''''re paying me some sort of respect..obviously I''''m doing something right if they feel the need to screw with my line OR to move away from their own A games and attempt to play a line which is probably their B or C game, or worse.

I''''ve even had guys pull out the same ball I''''m using and move to my line, trying to replicate my look to the pocket, with limited to zero success. To many variables between bowlers..you have to adjust to your own game and your own ball reactions, not follow somebody else..

The only time someone else can give you a read on the lane is if you bowl with them enough to know their ball reactions on various lane conditions. Many a time in traveling leagues have I seen our lead-off guy throw a heavy brooklyn after switching pairs and instantly know to ball down to something that clears the heads with little mid lane and is controllable in the backend.

Don't feel disrespected at all. I always looked at it as a way they are watching me and I am doing well and they want to try it out. More less they are respecting me for finding something. As already stated just because the jump to your "line" does not mean it will work for them.
