Title: Carolyn Dorin-Ballard signs with Roto Grip
Post by: Walking E on March 03, 2011, 09:58:28 AM
This is pretty shocking to me. I can't imagine seeing her NOT shilling for Brunswick any more. I mean, every chance she got, she would name-drop Brunswick on TV ("I had a great reaction because of this Brunswick ball, and my Brunswick shirt made me look good, and I had on my lucky Brunswick underwear", etc.).
I like the Roto Grip brand, so I'm curious to see how well she performs with it.

Considering how few women bowlers we see on television I'm surprised there still sponsored.
With the PBA season a fraction of what it used to be on television I'm surprised more companies don't pull sponsorship.
Be good, or be good at it.

I can't believe she left Brunswick. BUT THEN she left Ebonite and signed with Brunswick.
Besides she's not really bowling any more. No more women's PWBA
and she has not done very well when competing in the PBA. She's a full time mother now.

I am so happy for her to leave Brunswick no matter what the issue was. I never thought she was the same bowler after she left Ebonite. Roto-Grip is a perfect opportunity.

Same here. I remember when she used to throw Ebonite and their lines at the time seemed to be a really good fit. The move to Brunswick made it look like she was forcing the ball to do what she wanted. Also, most of the balls Brunswick had didn't really seem to match up that well for her style. The few things I have seen with her throwing Roto Grip looks like she matches up very well, just like the Ebonite days.

It's only international staff now. Stefanie Nation left Brunswick for Ebonite (throws all 4 brands) and then Diandra Asbaty left to join Storm. CDB of course now with Roto Grip and was the last woman on staff to leave.
