How many of you have chased down a shot and then realized a few frames later that if you pulled a different ball out that you could maintain your original line? I usually chase down a shot for about a game and then grab a different ball. This last thursday, I came across this again, but started switching balls earlier than usual, and realized that if I start switching balls earlier then I do not need to chase down a shot. I think that when this thursday comes around that I will switch balls a frame or 2 earlier and see what happens.

It does not matter what type of shot you throw, it's the results on the scoresheet that counts.

I will chase usually a maximum of a 2 board move. I feel my carry suffers if I move too far, so I switch balls if my adjustments are too extreme.

I guess it depends on the type of shot whether I chase the condition or not. If it's a tougher shot I tend to stay with the same ball longer and make subtle line/hand position adjustments- but if it's a shot where the conditions move quickly in terms of oil migration, I may switch balls rather than chasing the shot.

I'm so stubborn that I usually will chase the shot for a game before I change balls. When I do change, it's generally a fill ball in the 10th frame just to see a reaction. Of course, if the new ball works, I tend to kick myself the rest of the night for not changing earlier.
