Title: Circle athletics mega idol
Post by: BigJohnC on May 29, 2015, 11:15:31 PM: I recently bought a nib mega idol and was trying to find any information that i can about the shape and overall potential of the ball.

Most have had great feedback on circle products..

at the time they hooked just as much as any other ball on the market, however this seems as if it was a midpriced ball at the time.

I assume the cover would be as strong as a scream or shout from roto grip...

Post by: DP3 on May 30, 2015, 10:10:58 PM: Idol, Mega Idol, Hero and Super Hero were Storm Pours with covers similar to Accu-Tread. The Mega Idol had a very unique core and flared a ton. It would probably still be a great medium oil ball.

They moved over to San Antonio pours with the Tilts and Hardcores. That Blue/Red Tilt was a freaking monster. Solid ball that turned the corner HUGE down the lane.

That web page has a review by Bill of Buddies Pro Shop. He was pretty accurate with his reviews, in general;so you could get a good idea about the ball from that review.

Post by: DP3 on May 31, 2015, 02:00:27 PM: Keep in mind, Bill is a smooth stroking lefty, so results may vary. For me this ball was very clean with a pronounced angular breakpoint. The regular Idol came slightly dull, around maybe 2000-3000 but had noticable mica particles in the cover

It sounds like it is what i was hoping for as a drop from my hyper cell and versa max and close to the same as my evil siege that is drilled to go long before the arcin backend.
