Colored grips an advantage?

I recently bought some black vise grips.  Upon drilling up a few balls and installing the grips and a matching black thumb slug, I noticed that unless the ball had a lot of big bright logos, it was was very tough to see when/where the ball was revving up, which makes it difficult to read the reaction.  Its nice to know if the ball is revving up and just skidding.. or if its not even trying to rev up and just skating.. or if its burning up early.  Anyone else notice this?  

So although I think that black grips/slug looks good in the ball, they don't give you any info on the ball reaction....  I'm sure this goes for other darker colors as well.  I think that I am going to look for orange grips and slugs... LOL

Check out Sunday broadcast.  A tour caliber player can get a LOT of info. from another players roll.  Since, tour caliber players can aslo burn out a line/spot to either make another player suffer on his preferred trajectory...I  for one don't see why they also can not figure out anothers roll to take advantage of lane play.  I'm not talking league hacks here.

Anybody see any players on todays/Sun. PBA broadcast with colored grips?

NO!  Proves my point.  Either no inserts or black.

You may have a point about dark colored grips, but you are completely delusional if you seriously think that any of them don't use grips just so their opponent has a slightly more difficult time reading their ball reaction.  Ever hear of something called "preference"?

You honestly believe that the ONLY reason Collins, Duke, etc don't use grips is just so their opponent can't see the colored grips spinning?  What about the ball's color itself??  Collins was using a multi-colored ball.  Yeah, I'm sure Wolfe and Jurek couldn't figure out what his ball was doing based on that, but uh oh, slap some colored grips in and it's soooo much easier.

Do you really believe that?

Yes.....in match play it is very important not so much on a telecast.  Why because as players move on pairs in match play they prefer to use their preferred line or make the other player use their line.  Masking their roll is a good way to make it harder for the opposing player to know what they are doing with the ball.

There are many nuances of the game at the pro level that a league bowler will not understand.  Why do you hardly ever see a pro with colored grips?  It sure can't be because they ALL have preference for black grips.....can that be?

I like the grips to contrast the ball so I can read them.
As for the pros, I don't think they are hiding their ball reaction...usually their strategy is to NOT watch their opponent.
