How you hold your ball at the stance ?
« on: July 24, 2006, 08:59:38 PM »
Just wondering about the above...do you rest the ball in your bowling arm palm or do you only support it with your thumb and fingers ?

After the oNe....am now throwing a ZoNe that will vaporized the pins !!! I just love the reaction of my Vapor ZoNe...

In my stance I try to support all the weight of the ball with my off hand.  That way my grip is relaxed and it helps promote a free arm swing.

Like jdhaze, I like to support most of the ball's weight with my non-bowling hand before I start the push-away. Nevertheless, I try to put more weight/pressure on my fingers to keep my thumb as loose/free as possible for a clean release. Wehn I started bowling I made the mistake to hold it too tight with my thumb.
The weight itself in the approach position is "held" by a ProRelease wrist support, so that I must not put too much effort into holding it.
