could it be the ball weight
« on: August 15, 2009, 12:26:20 AM »
I am currently using 14 pounds i am getting the ball to around 7 or 8 at the breakpoint and i get the ball where most would leave a weak 10 but leave a 5 not even wiggling.
then when i get it to that spot in the deck from 2 or 3 at the breakpoint it is a swishing 5 most of the time

is it the ball weight that is causing this or is it something else.
luckily most times i leave 5s where they are not touched i get an atomic messenger to take it out

Guys he's 14, he obviously can't be doing anything wrong himself. He made up his mind that it is the ball weight so just agree with him and let him spend more of his parents money.

i doubt you are a leading psychologist specializing in 14 year old bowlers. there is a difference between defending a point until somebody proves you wrong and making your mind up, if i had made my mind up I would not have bothered making this post and gone and bought a new ball, with my parents money according to you.

Move right till you can post a vid or have someone else who has seen you bowl help.

If it were the ball weight so many bowlers wouldn't be dropping to 14lbs, including pros. The technology is such that 14lbs hit very strong. The ball is deflecting because of lack of energy/drive into the pocket.

The good news is, it is an easy fix.

What ball are you throwing exactly??

I still think you are topping the ball... or just throwing basically a straight ball... need vid!

How many people need to tell you it's impossible to be constantly leaving "flush pocket" 5-pins before you believe them? At least with your 300+ rev rate and Chris Barnes-esque ball roll. Either your not actually hitting the pocket that good, or you are overstating your rev-rate by a decent amount. Whichever it is, the extra pound isn't going to make you go from constant 5-pins to constant strikes.
