Just noticed the bridge has cracked in my Hell Raiser Revenge. This is the 2nd time a bridge has cracked in the last year (out of 7 balls) Both balls have grips, the finger holes are beveled, and they are always kept indoors and well maintained. I use Loctite Super Glue Gel to install my grips, and only a drop on the side-back-side, not the front. Both bridges are 1/4".
Is there something I'm doing that's maybe causing them to crack, or is it just unlucky? Also, should I have them repaired by the local PSO, or is it okay to just keep using them even though the bridge is cracked?

I have not had a bridge crack ever since I went to 3/8" instead of the 1/4" I used to use between the fingers.

It's just a weak spot. Some do, while others survive. Sometimes they crack but never get worse. I'd keep using it and then if it starts coming apart then have it repaired.

Check the width of the bridge using a caliper below the bevel. Ask the driller how long it's been since his bits were sharpened. -- JohnP

Just really a crap shoot.
If it bothers you, then fix it.
If not, then don’t.

From reading various threads and the feedback here, seems it's probably just luck of the draw if a bridge cracks or not. I think I'm just going to use it as is and keep an eye on it. Right now it's currently the 4th ball in a 3 ball rotation, so not a real big deal. I do think I'll change the way I glue my grips in from now on, and not use glue on the bridge side. I'll try Mo Pinel's way, which is "front left corner - front right corner - back" with minimal glue, and see how that goes.

I don’t glue them to the coverstock at all (unless it is one of those thick shelled type balls.)
What I do is pull them away from the edge, and put the glue down in the hole where the filler is, and actually glue them to the filler down in the hole.
Keeps the cover from reacting with the glue.
Just have to get used to the inserts being “loose†around the top edge of the hole.
