Ball Return Damaged My Ball...What Can I Do?
« on: September 09, 2006, 01:37:20 PM »
First off heres what happened. I was bowling at a local bowling center when my ball had gotten "stuck" and was not returning (which is fairly common at this bowling center). I let a worker know my ball had not returned yet. After a couple of minutes my ball returned but with a large gash across one of the finger holes making my ball very uncomfortable and somewhat painful to throw. Is there anything I can do if this happens again? (I realize its probably to late in this instance)...

I bowled in a center yesterday and both of my less than 2 week old balls got chips out of them I told the manager and he took the balls and is going to have them repaired and he also gave me two free games I don't like that my balls got messed up but it is good to bowl in a house that does the right thing and this is not the first time that they have done the right thing

This happend twice to me (same ball). It absolutely SUCKS. The thing left chain marks all over my ball. My pro shop guy fixed it, but it was never the same.

i would really vary from house to house.  The ones I bowl at will repair but not replace.  I have seen houses though that will not do anything to a mid or high performance ball if it becomes damanage.  Good luck

Happened to me on the third game of a ball I bought!!

It just didn't come back and when I told the girl about it she went into the back and said she didn't see it.

I let her know this was impossible and she went back again.  Of course I knew at this point it probably wasn't going to be good.

Finally it popped out and had belt scars all over it.  Somehow, miraculously, it didn't hit my track or flare area at all!  The bowling place was the union of college and no way they're replacing anything as their signs everywhere point out.

The marks also wore down as I bowled and cleaned the ball.  Tracks "Clean And Dull" got rid of them 100%.

So I got lucky.

Also,  last year my last game after the league banquet, my last ball even, the ball came back with a chip in it, right of the grip.  So once again no damage to anywhere important.  It's not a bad chip and will probably be gone with a sanding, but I'm not concerned.
