While Dick Weber was being honored by the city, Bowlmor closed up Dick Weber Lanes.

I guess the petition to save it fell way short of the signatures they wanted:

Pete should have bought it.
-
Yeah Pete should have, must not been a good investment.
-
The story says that the lanes will be closed but has it actually happened?
-
That is shameful.

So a company is supposed to keep an underperforming location open just because of who it is named after?
And a petition? People have already voted by not spending their dollars at this establishment.

True enough, and the legacy of the great Dick Weber will continue long after Dick Weber Lanes is forgotten.

If you go to the online petition site, there were only 93 signatures on it, so not much interest at all. Maybe Pete was smart not to buy it.

The center had really gone down hill the last several years. It's too bad that it's closing, but it was also a shame to have a legend's name on something like that. Even Pete has said things along those lines.
