Do some ball companies favor Strokers/Crankers?

Being a Stroker with approx 200-220 revrate and 13-16 MPH ball speed, I've noticed that some brands slightly cater to different styles. I have lots of Storm equipment and they fit me just fine. I have had Columbia, Brunswick, and Track as well and they seemed to work well. However, I've noticed that Brunswick balls work better for those with a faster rev rate.

Any comments and experiences would be appreciated.

Tyler, I am in agreement.  I'm a classic stroker and have tried three high end Storm balls and they all were total duds for me.  While on the other hand I have the best game with Ebonite and some Columbia equipment.  The low rg, early reving Brunswicks do help strokers, get some pocket entry angle, but it also keeps the fast speed crankers from just throwing straight bullets.  From what I've seen on the lanes, Storm favors the crankers, while Ebonite and Brunswick the strokers.  Columbia tends to have equipment in a wider variety and thus can fit all bowlers.

I am somewhere around a Stroker or maybe Stroker/Tweener and I have had good luck with Storm balls, both good luck and bad luck with Track balls, good luck with the Brunswick old Quantums but bad luck with their Zone Asymmetric balls (am going to try an Absolute Inferno soon) and bad luck with Columbia balls.

Personally I believe that in this day and age, you can't just make stereotypes about certain companies.  Otherwise, Mike Machuga lost his mind when he used those ultra early and smooth rolling Brunswick balls to hook the lane to win his first title.  And that's why Norm duke lost before, he was playing the twig with storm stuff.  Doesn't he know storm is for crankers who like stuff to go long and snap?  Pffft.  Those amateurs don't know anything, they don't understand that the stereotypes are 100% true....

I've been back bowling for a little over a year and am using an old Aftershock and a Big Bully - both Columbia.

Bowling on a blended house shot; 10-10, 40' length.  Averaging 218 at the moment.

Stroker/Tweener; low/medium revs; 16-17mph; playing straight up about 6-7 board.

Looking for a ball that revs up quick like the Big Bully, but with a bigger backend.

I'm thinking about Ebonite's XXXcel, Hammer's Deal Deal, and Dynothane's Centrifugal Mass.

I'm a Stroker/Tweener, can play anywhere between 15 out to 5.  I do not use particle covers, no luck with them. I've gone from Storm to Brunswick.  My experiences on ball surfaces and Companies vary.  My most successful equipment is either Pearl or polished.  The reason for changing from Storm was they stopped making Accu-tread, "Monsoon Covers Suck,"  so i'm using polished Brunswick overseas balls now.
Columbia/Track made products don't roll well for me.  
Dyno-Thane, only had one but have two more i'm going to try, both pearl

Andy, I will have to disagree with your statement. As I've already posted above here, I am a Stroker or maybe Stroker/Tweener. Definitely not even close to a Cranker and Storm balls work good for me. For me personanly, they are close to if not the best of all of the companies out there for me with Track a close second.

Gutter Bum, a Stroker like myself states he doesn't have a problem with Storm balls. It is apparently in the drillings and surface prep as Gutter Bum also states. There are very few Crankers in the Senior Leagues I bowl in and yet Storm is the most popular ball with most Seniors, followed by Ebonite and then a bit of everything. Besides drillings and surface prep, maybe it is because some of us don't have a lot of hand that Storm works for us, I don't know.

There are exceptions to everything because each release is unique.

But my experience is that strokers for the most part like balls that rev up earlier. Companies like Brunswick, Ebonite, and Lane 1 tend to do that more than Columbia, Track, and Storm.

I’m stuck in tweener land my ball reaction is generally early. So much of my equipment has been Storm, Track, and Columbia. However on certain conditions I have had good success with Brunswick and Ebonite. I always keep an earlier revving ball with me in case I need a different look.

Bob, I wish Brunswick did that for me as I would love to throw some Brunswick balls, but unfortunately they do not match up to me in the Zone series with the asymmetric cores. In regard to back when they made Quantums, with the exception of a couple I had, they all matched up to me well. I plan on trying an Absolute Inferno in the near future.

i am definitely a stroker. i have liked my storm stuff but my ball driller has always said storm stuff is not made for my game. my totally unscientific opinion says lane 1 stuff always looks so much better in the hand of a cranker. and morich stuff (which i love the best) seems to match up better with stroker imho.

Not one company caters to a particular style of bowler. Some balls work better for a particular style.  I love Track equipment but I could use a ball from every company and still do well with.  For me I like Track because most of the balls I have bought from them work great for me.
