IT Thumb Removal - Oops
« on: August 31, 2016, 08:39:23 AM »
So I don't have a jig to drill IT- thumbs (working on it).  My temp solution was to install an ball-it  into and old plastic ball that I no longer use (violate the rules...but), lock in the undrilled slug, and drill it.  First time, no issues.  The second try, the slug-it at the bottom of the slug gave out shortly after starting to drill.  Now it spins...not useful for completing the thumb.  There is a little(~ 1/8") of slug above the surface of the ball, but not enough to secure to complete the drill.

And ideas for getting this slug out?  Or do I just pitch the old ball?

Thanks
Scott
