What are you seeing???
« on: January 10, 2006, 12:19:00 AM »
Every now and then I like to ask what balls you are seeing as being very popular around the country.  I just like to see what is selling and rolling well for people.  Please include both Mid Price and High End balls, as well as the area you are from.

Thanks in advance.

My part of Ohio

Lots of the BVP Line
Raw Hammer Doom
Infernos
The One

SE of Cleveland Wylie.  But even narrowing down to there, you would amazed at how different house to house it around us.

On my leagues Im pretty much surrounded by infernos and paradigms.  I think Im the only guy that doesnt have one.   The ONE is starting to become pretty popular around here too.  As far as mid priced there are alot of BVPs most notably the rampage and I see of lot of Hammer Dooms.

Infernos, infernos, infernos...

I used to be about the only person using Brunswick, moved to a different city.  Everyone is using brunswick.

We're not a new-ball house.  Most folks get new stuff maybe once a year.  We get a pretty even spread from different manufacturers, no one really seems to be dominant in this part of MS.

I bowl league in two centers plus ABT in the north and northwest suburbs of Chicago.  Of the new stuff, The One is HUGE in both league centers and I see quite a few at ABT events, as well.  The Paradigm is a distant second, with the Total Shock and Awe being out there, too.

I still see a lot of Ultimate Infernos and Absolute Infernos everywhere I go.

I live in the St. Louis, MO area and bowl here and also a couple of leagues in Illinois. From my league in MO:

BVP Line
Hammer - the Hawg in making a presence now.
The One
Storm - XXX, Paradigm,
Columbia - The biggest thing right now is the Action. Also some of the Bully series.
Visionary - Centaur AMB (Bronze) and the reliable Green Gargoyle and Crimson Executioner.

Im my IL leagues:

Track - Rule, Exception and I started to see some Robo Rule.
Storm - XXX, Vertigo
Columbia - Drive and Backyard Bully
Visionary - Centaur AMB Solid & the Centaur AMB Bronze
Hammer - Hawg and quite a few from the Diesel line.

I tend to use my Inferno and on my Friday leage I use a Dyno-Thane Special EFX and I am the only one using DT.

I see a lot of guys buying the top end balls and in the Metro St. Louis area their isn't a big need for the biggest hooking ball on the market because their isn't any houses that have a fairly heavy oil pattern that you need for this type of ball.
