While looking at lane info on Brunswick's site I came across this:
quote:
The new Textured Approach from Brunswick offers the performance advantages and visual appeal of a wood approach with the durability of a synthetic approach. During the manufacturing process, while the melamine surface of a Pro Lane or Anvilane synthetic approach panel is curing, a piece of rough "release paper" is directly applied to the melamine. This paper imprints an ideal series of contours into the melamine and provides a texture that beautifully replicates that of natural wood approaches. The result — A textured synthetic approach that looks and performs like traditional wood approaches for bowlers of all ages and skill levels. Now standard with all Anvilane purchases.
I was wondering, do you guys think regular melamine would work for practicing your approach at home?
What is the size of a normal approach?
I have a couple of pieces left over from a desk project I was working on. Probably not big enough for an approach, but melamine isn't overly expensive.
I might be able to keep a sheet out in the garage to use for practice.
