Well it's the day after the pbax league. I had no idea they were going to cancel all the animal patterns and instead replace them with legend bowlers patterns and a pattern named after a city along with 3 majors.
Earl Anthony was one of the strangest designed patterns I've seen yet. The sheets are guides like said and is a slight advantage if you have a game plan and can read it correctly. Couldn't compare it with an animal pattern but something on the lines of Cheetah or Viper with a big square of oil from like 10-10 halfway down the lane. Many of the bowlers that were able to or just had the style to do it played inside trying to swing it and saw no success at all. Standing a little right playing it like the Viper at start around the second arrow and pretty much out to 8-10 no more or less then that and required hand to drive but much speed or was going left or worse if you just missed. Like many of the animal patterns, I was amazed how sensitive it was to speed. Shot 730 for 4 with one game over 200. Missed easy spares which cannot do on these shots as a double is not the easiest to come by unless you are good at this. There were few that were and many were mediocre to bad including some new faces just trying this out for the first time in their life.
