Dropping a bowling ball off of Sears Tower
« on: December 09, 2008, 09:48:41 AM »
What would happen to a high performance bowling ball if you dropped it off the Sears tower in Chicago off the roof? What kind of sound would it make, would would be left of the ball and what would happen to the sidewalk/street/car/person/whatever the ball happens to land on?

I would add some polish to it, they oil only inside the elevators. Anyway, you might will need some surface maintenance after any shot but beware, if it is a sanctioned league its NOT allowed. Maybe you will have to do some big adjustments on the approach...buildingwise...after every shot.

Or you could THROW it down as hard as possible, just to make sure it'd reach terminal velocity!

Hell, paint the ball BRIGHT ORANGE  OR GREEN and block off the street at 3 am. DO IT! DO IT!

Would probably hit like a mack truck or a freight train according too all the reviews on balls

LOL!!!! Yeah the reviews on this site are pretty much next to worthless.  Every ball hits like something else and they all destroy the rack.  Sometimes I wonder when a ball will be made that hits like a bowling ball and leaves the rack in 1 piece.

I'd also like to see that done with an old Manhattan Rubber. Would it bounce?

A 16# ball would hit a lot harder, and would carry the hydrant

I wonder how much force would be applied with a 15# ball, vs. a 16# ball.  I still think I'd take out the hydrant with the harder hitting ball

A ball drilled pin down would set up early hence fourth maximizing its falling potential.
