Dropping ring finger span
« on: October 10, 2018, 12:53:39 AM »
Hi guys.

I’ve been using the same setup for years.  But the last two years I’ve been bowling with a Robby revs three support.  It has four cup settings with one straight and four most cupped.

Every once in a while if I use the number four setting, my ring finger gets stuck and I can’t get out of the ball.  I changed ring finger inserts to one size larger to give me a little more room and that helped a little.

But in Vegas it got so bad I couldn’t get out of the ball. My thumb swells in Vegas usually and I just take more tape out of my thumb.  But I couldn’t do anything for the ring finger.

I’m assuming my span gets a little shorter as I Cup my wrist more.  My ring finger sits maybe a quarter of an inch higher than my middle finger.  I’m thinking if I make it even, shortening a quarter of an inch and go to a bigger insert that might solve problem?

Obviously I’m going to try it on one ball, to see if it works.  Then if it helps redo other balls.

Thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

My guess is you didn't get fitted with the notion of using the wrist device.  If you intend on using the device then I suggest getting fitted with the potential to use it at whatever range you think you will use it.

Also, as a side note, I do recommend bowlers getting their fit check every year or two, especially as we get older.  Drastic changes in flexibility are possible much quicker than we expect.
