Dry hands and bowling
« on: December 21, 2005, 02:59:03 PM »
Tonight I went to my bowling center to get in six games. I'm still struggling with the Smokin Inferno and I wanted to play with it today since it is such an unforgiving and touchy ball. There were leagues still in sessions so the center manager gave me one of the graveyard lanes where they usually have open bowling and children's birthday parties.

As soon as I start bowling, my hands are dry and fit loosely in the grips. Instead of grabing my rosin bag, I blew hot air into my hands to give them some moisture. I've noticed that my release was much better with a little bit of moisture and I've been putting some more revs on the ball because of that. Has anyone else noticed this? My scored ranged anywheres from 138-192, but I wasn't there really trying to score. I was more concerned with 10 pin pickups since that is my major weakness.

But I just wanted to share that giving my hand a little moisure by breathing on it gave me a more snug grip. In the cold, dry, winter months my hands would usually be dry and my release would be a bit crappy in the beginning.
