I really need some good advice please
« on: March 24, 2007, 04:19:37 AM »
Okay, this new condition i've been bowling on is what i think you would call an " over-under " condition. The ball sometimes over hooks, or it doesn't hook enough. Even if you play the same exact line shot after shot. It just changes. It's really weird, and i would like to know how to attack this condition and destroy it. Obviously using a pearl reactive isn't gonna work (haha learned that today, the hard way). So what type of ball would work on this condition? I was thinking a Raw Hammer PAIN because its a solid (kinda) weak reactive. So it will be a more even reacting ball, correct? Give me some pointers please!

ok i just checked your profile, to get your stats. one thing that works for me is to use balls with longer pin to pap distance, and knock the shine off them. right now i'm using an old blue pulse with a 5" pin to pap, and the surface is 2000 abralon with no polish. this get through the heads and is controllable through the mids and a good arcing backend. what i really like about taking the shine off is that is allows the ball to read the whole lane. you'll be able to get a hnadle on what the lanes want by watching you ball with this surface. so i'd try surface changes first.

Usually in the third or fourth game of a match, I have a lot of over under which I think is due to carry-down. Lately, I have tried a new approach to try and solve that problem. What I do: I use a polished ball and shoot staight down the first arrow with higher speed. My normal game,as a stroker, is to play the second arrow up to the 5th board. My scores were most of the time lower in the 3rd and 4th game. With the new technique, my late scores have been equal to the first game. I have been doing this for only three matches so far. I will continue to use that technique and compare results and decide if it is the way to go. I wonder if anybody else does that.

Okay, im gonna try to answer some questions and respond to some things that were said. Thanks for the help so far btw

bowlu4it, all my info is in my profile, so that might help some for you.

Okay, my pearl reactive is a Track Equation drilled 5 1/2 PIN to PAP so everyone knows that.

So far as i've read, it looks like something solid or a particle pearl is the way to go i guess. That's pretty much what i thought. Hmm, so what is the latest and greatest controllable Particle Pearl or Solid Reactive ball out there? I would love something controllable so i don't have to speed up my arm swing so much because that's a bad problem i have. So what's everyone's opinioin on a ball ? Open for any company except Ebonite btw. Thanks!
