Title: Dynzroos non-slide shoe has become slippy, anyway to add tackiness?
Post by: johns811 on January 13, 2020, 12:18:52 PM
Hi, my somewhat aged Dynaroos (which are great) the non-slide shoe seems like it has become slick. Is there a way to add some tackiness back to it? Sand? Acetone?

I use rubbing alcohol or alcohol wipes

Brush it a few times with a shoe brush(like the one for your slide soles).

My Dexter's have done the same and a light brushing will expose a fresh layer of material like when it was new.

As others have said, you need to break down the outer layer of rubber.  I had the same issue with the original ABS versions of the shoes.  The rubber eventually deteriorated to the point where I couldn't rejuvenate it enough.

Another option is to have a cobbler add a thin rubber piece to the bottom to give you a new surface.
