college bowling
« on: February 24, 2009, 12:35:31 PM »
So, im finally back finishing up my business degree. Nex year ill have to transfer to a 4 year school to finish my bachelor degree. The closest school to me right now that has a bowling team is Bowling Green State University. I made the Vincennes University team in 1998 but did not attend do i should have 4 years of elegibilty left. Would it benefit my bowling at the age of 30 next year to join a college team? Should i seriously consider this or not? Ill take any opinions.
Thanks,

I say go for it! I won't even be able to bowl until I get my B.S. and move off for a Masters. As long as the competitive flame is still lit, why not go for it?

I say absolutely, there are a lot of people in the same boat as you out here, and they are bowling for their colleges.  Great way to make friends, and if your a nationals bowler, a great way to find teammates.

Bowl!

I can't wait to get my Masters in a few years. I only bowled for one year and have 4 left.  I'll be at least 28/29.  There are quite a few older guys out there, George Lambert IV was 26 in...'05 I think...when he made the Masters show and he was attending Wichita at the time.

You'll learn more bowling college tournaments than almost any other series of tournaments.

good advise! I just think it would be weird being 30 and at a match and me having a wife and 2 kids while these other kids have nothing like that. When are bowling tryouts held now anyways?

YES!!! College bowling is great... I'm on SJSU's team so if you have any questions feel free to ask.  We have a 30 yr old on our team and we have a great time w/ him.
