help finding the right ball
« on: August 15, 2003, 03:32:33 AM »
i need help finding the right ball for me. the balls i have now are pretty old and my bowling style has changed dramatically. i currently have backend balls which rarely hooks for me. one of them is the FUZE (raging red). i dont know if its the ball or if its me. also, my messenger ti isnt hoking anymore either. wen i first got the balls, i would throw them about 17mph. i would usually stand on the middle dot, throwing the ball out to the 10 board. now my ball goes an ave. of 19-19.5 mph. i think i need an early hook ball. i was thinkin of the Vortex II  particle. if u have any suggestions, let me know. thnx.
e-mails are greatly appreciated.  send mail to  " igottacivic@yahoo.com "

my personal info: 19yrs old / male/ 5'7" / 170lbs

Well, if you speed increased, and your revs didn't, yeah your ball is going to have trouble hooking.  Remember, the slower you throw it, the more time it has to create friction between itself and the lane, causing it to hook more.  My suggestion is to either buy a particle and drill it to roll pretty early, slow your speed down, or learn to create more revs.
