I found one on the rack at a bowling center but it was in bad shape. Did anyone ever have any experience throwing it?

Never threw one myself, but saw a couple guys throw one quite a bit in s league I was in. Ball looked increduble out of the box, but the shell died quickly, and the hit got ordinary fast

Most high particle balls are high maintenance!
You'd have to clean the cover well after every three game useage!
Not to mention watching the rate of oil absorption!

Also with the older particles you had to be careful which abrasive you used to refinish the ball with. Use something softer than the particles, like Scotchbrite pads. Anything harder than the particles would even them down level to the rest of the ball which is not desirable.
