I saw a lefty experience carrydown tonight with my own eyes! I couldn't believe it! A typical lefty, has reaction outside 5, the ball never rolls out, you know, basic stuff. Pretty good bowler, if just mediocre in his knowledge of the game and attention to it. Cranker, fairly accurate. He had to double take when he saw a pretty good shot actually skid a bit when it started making a move to the pocket, left a 3-5-6. He still never moved any deeper than just inside 3rd arrow, but he had to move a little bit in, slow it down and rev it up to get a consistent reaction. Did fairly well. But wow, the other two lefties in the league can get perfect reaction. One can play second arrow and get snap out of a Blue Dot. It's unreal, but I finally saw a lefty have to move!!!

I still recall one night on one of my men's leagues where we had 3 lefties on the pair at the same time.  Between the 3, they were chopping each other's shot up and carrying oil down on each other.  It was actually kind of entertaining watching them shake their heads when they didn't quite get the ball reaction that they expected.

Just for fun, I'd like to watch 10 lefties on the same pair for a league set.  I'm sure that you would hear and see some things that you've never seen before!  You could almost sell tickets for entertainment like that.

CoachTommy, I bet that was a hoot watching those 5 lefties chopping each other's line down.  It is interesting to hear that they did indeed have traffic problems on the lanes.  That just goes back to reinforce what us righties have always said, in that lefties have the shot all to themselves (normally).

This post reeks of disgruntled lefty-envying righties...Lefties rule, Righties...well, let's just say can't reason well since they are left-brained.

Guys, I've just about had it up to here with this lefty/righty debate crap.  Everybody has their own opinion and it's getting old listening to the same B.S. over and over again for the last how many years.  All you'd have to do is check out the ABC Tournament web-site the last few years to get your fill of it.  It's starting to sound like the Republicans vs. Democrats.
By the way I'm a righty and I know a few lefties who can adjust with the best of them.  In fact I bowl league with one.  Guys always want him to bowl pot games after league and he says "I'll bowl, under one condition.  We go to the bar and roll a die, whatever number comes up that's what arrow we play."  Never seen a righty or a lefty take him up on the offer.

Of course, it goes without saying that the highest averager in my state is a lefty.  He carries a 249 average, and does this using an old maroon urethane Gyro!!!  Yep, he plays a terrific down and in line with an old pancake weightblock Ebonite Gyro, and has shot numerous 300 games and 800 series with this ball.  Considering the lack of technology in his equipment, I'd have to say that the key variable here is the bowler himself.  And of course, I was matched up against him the night that he shot his career high 849 series back about 3 months ago....he shot 279, 290, 280, carrying 33 out of 36 that night.
