Title: Fantasy National Bowling Stadium
Post by: MI 2 AZ on October 18, 2003, 12:46:55 AM
If you could make recommendations to ABC on what features to include in a new National Bowling Stadium or suggestions on what to change with the current one, what would that be?

Myself, I would like to have stadium seating available for all of the lanes with a good view of not only the bowlers but the entire lane surface so I could watch the ball reaction down the lane.  And food/beverage service for the spectators in the seating areas.  More large lockers for the bowlers and restrooms closer to the lanes.

I agree with all of the above.
Add:
Full time valet service for bowling bags, and/or larger elevators.

1.  Provide more space for the bowlers between the lanes and the concourse.  The settee at the Stadium is kind of cramped, especially when all of the bowlers on a pair have those six-ball SUVs back there.  A setup similar to that at the Orleans would be great.

2.  Move the ball returns back *behind* the approaches, so that bowlers can play a deep inside line without having to circumnavigate the ball return.  This was the case at the ABC Tournament in Huntsville, and this seemed to work out well.

3.  Add a few feet of buffering between each pair of lanes, to give the bowlers a little more breathing room.  This might also dissuade a few more people from giving two-lane courtesy when the rules call for one lane on each side.
