Title: Fast/Slow response balls
Post by: carlos on January 15, 2021, 08:18:16 AM
Do most bowlers with faster ball speed tend to lean towards balls that respond quicker to friction ? Are pearl bowling balls better than solids ? I see the Neuclear Cell being a pearl that responds quick  not sure about a solid that responds quick. Just curious thanks.

I would say yes! Bowlers who throw the ball faster need stronger equipment and/or balls that react quicker on the backend to handle that speed.

As far as which is better, pearl or solid, that depends on what condition you're playing on! What purpose you are trying to achieve is all relative to that! You use the right tool for the job at hand!

People with more ball speed give the ball less time to respond to the friction. That is why they need quicker balls. As far as pearls vs solid, pearls tend to be a little longer which gives them the illusion of being quicker. The type of reactive cover (not the solid or pearl indicator), along with core create the response to friction. Solids can be pretty quick on friction. The 900 Global Black Ops and Black Eagle were both solid and they can both rip off the dry. The Hammer Jet Black Taboo was also solid and it would also rip off of the dry.
