Favorite Burn Balls
« on: October 17, 2015, 11:46:36 PM »
Just wanted to hear what everyone's favorite ball on the burn is. Speaking about conditions where you still need something strong enough to turn the corner but still gets down the lane. Some of the best I've seen lately include: Hy-Road Pearl, Viral, and Unhinged.

Anything Urethane  ::)  :P

My Storm Punchout and DV8 Ruckus Schizo are both pretty good when I have to get further left and wheel it, although I don't bowl on really dry conditions that often.

I like my Tribal Fire on the burn since it will still recover with jumping in.  It's very controllable.  I don't see a ton of the burn around my neck of the woods though.

The DV8 Hooligan is a pretty good piece for the burn. It's ultra clean up front, and it will corner hard if you have the hand in it. The Brunswick Soul is also pretty good when they dry out. It's clean through the heads, and the backend stays controllable enough to keep it from going sideways on you.

it really depends for me on whether the heads are gone, or I can still find some head oil in around 4th arrow.  My old cobalt vibe is still very good when I cant find much head oil even very deep.

LT-48 AND Strike King

I have both, LT-48 with a long smooth rolling layout and a strike king with a Rico drilling.  excellent compliment for the burn.

The balls I actually use for the burn are my old dependables:

A Global Link; a Roto Grip Sonic-X or a Roto Retro Blue. With these balls I can actually play in the burn.

Of the most recent balls out though, I have found my Strike King to be superb in bumping off the burn.

With my revs my LT-48 is a medium condition ball.
Some days you're the bug....some days you're the windshield...that's bowling!

The Motiv Tribal Fire is now on closeout after being discontinued.  If it's a ball you're considering, you can get it for less than $120 including shipping at bowlingball.com and bowlersdeals.com.
