Title: Flight Advice
Post by: ccrider on June 13, 2008, 09:14:48 AM
Flying Delta, Atlanta International to Orlando. I have a storm 6 ball roller. Are you allowed to carry on the detachable two ball top as long as the weight stays below 50 pounds?

Will the tote fit in the overhead department of the large planes?

Also, should I worry about checking the two ball top with two balls and my shoes in it. I know that sometimes airlines throw things around?

Thanks for your input.

I'm not sure what the top bag is like, but the top bag of my 4 ball roller has traveled many times as checked baggage.  The top bag has a separate compartment for shoes above the balls.

I personally feel uncomfortable taking bowing balls as carry-on.

With today's air travel, assume you cannot do it and make other, more reliable plans.  Just because someone here says they took on a tote, you cannot assume that the jackhole TSA screener will let you do it.  If he's had a lousy morning, you can just about forget taking bags on.  Try to argue with him and he's liable to send you off to the special room.

And for heaven's sake, if you're considering bringing a Dirty Bomb or WMB, forget it.

If you're trying to carry-on any Lane#1 balls, you have a 20% greater chance of getting screened.

Actually, I have a Lane 1 "Buzzsaw" bag (6ball) and a Hammer 4 ball. The top part on each is about the same.

I don't play with dirty balls. There is a 20% chance of incurring bad diseases.

Brunswick or Track all the way.

Thanks for the voices or reason. The last thing I want is to get hassled during vacation. I will check the bag, avoid the possible hassle.
