Title: For you chemists
Post by: avabob on October 20, 2023, 09:32:05 AM
The info coming out on the new ( not urethane ) blue hammer raised a question for me.  What is the base composition of resin balls?  The original reactive were urethane with resin additives.  Is this still true and if not what is the base.

Reactive resin balls still have some urethane in them.

That is what I thought.  I know they use some type of polymers now .  Also resin balls aren't sticky now like they were in the 90s.

The base is a urethane and then they add in plasticizer to it to make the covers reactive.  If you go to Ronald Hickland's Youtube channel he goes into this in his recent video regarding the NU.
