Superflex vs Powerkoil 18 coverstock
« on: September 23, 2019, 02:01:47 AM »
Between two of the greatest reactive covers ever made, which cover was your favorite? I suspect that Superflex and PK 18 were identical in strength but Superflex was a little faster on friction.

I know when Lane #1 was around and used Powerkoil covers, they claimed to have huge success with the core and cover combo. I was a Lane #1 guy but the only Powerkoil I had was the Hybrid Dirty Bomb. I loved that ball and used it for many years.

Both are great.  Actually gave up on using new stuff and picked up a Morich Mojave with PK17 for my league in the dry house.  They are both very much in play even on modern conditions.  Just squirreled away a Scout with SF as well because who knows if will see another pancake reactive anytime soon.
Here today.  Gone tomorrow.

I loved both!!

And I still have active balls that I use now, with Powerkoil18!! To me it was the best coverstock ever made!!

I too still own a Scout and a Messenger with Superflex.

PK, mainly because of its durability.   Give it s hot water bath every 100 games or so and it lasts forever.

Not really the same but the new quantums are good balls imo. Way stronger and act like modern stuff everyone else puts out cover stock wise.  Though Forest green has that slight milky look and reads the midlane hard like PK18. Its closest I would say but way more ball.
