Technique topic: Coverstock Manipulation
« on: July 17, 2006, 12:52:33 AM »
This is an area where, thus far, I have not tried to do much.  I've scuffed a ball here and there with a green scotchbrite to get it to grab the lane a bit earlier, but just a little bit by hand.  I don't have a ball spinner or anything, so I assume most of the more serious manipulations would have to come through my pro shop.  How many of you actually do this regularly?  Do a lot of guys just leave everything OOB like me?  What are some of the key things I should know if I start to get into this process?  Do particular surfaces work better with particular styles, ie more grit for a stroker or anything like that?  Thanks!

I'm not a bowler, but I do play one on Ballreviews.
