Greetings fellow bowlers. After about a month of testing out my first urethane ball (Black Hammer), drilled for minimal to no flare, I've come to realize that I throw it as a full roller. The ball tracks almost dead center between the finger tips and runs almost completely around the entire circumference of the ball.
I'm a two handed, no thumb, player now for the past 4 months, but never really thought myself a full roller because my other pieces flare away from the finger tips and create a traditional 2"-4" bowtie track.
Anyways, I have two questions. First, and least importantly, is it worth trying to change something about my release to avoid this? It's clearly tracking over my fingertips.
Second, and more interestingly, I notice that my rev rate for my black hammer seems awfully low compared to what you would think a two hander would produce. However, I am pretty much able to swing the ENTIRE lane, with urethane, on a house shot. Anyways, are full rollers able to create substantially more hook than what their rev rate indicates should be possible?
I miss right, and the ball still comes screaming back, hard with carry; something I don't associate with a lackluster rev rate or urethane. Basically, are full rollers with, let's say 300rpms, comparable to other players with substantially higher rev rates? (ball speed at the pins is around 14mph)

To be clear, I don't use this ball in THS leagues, but I do practice THS's with it because I know I can bring it with me to practice and make it work regardless of how broken down the lanes are. I got it to throw on short sport shots.

As a full roller, with each rev you have more ball surface on the lane. In contrary think of a spinner who has very little ball surface touching lane per rev. So that gives more friction.
The other factor is axis tilt. May be throwing it with very little tilt, and that will not make it roll earlier, so not really a harder hook, but hooks earlier and thus crosses more boards.

Bowlers stats are what they are. 2 handed or no. Adding a hand does not add carry, unless it changes the stats. Tilt works in the vice versa, the lower the tilt the quicker the ball burns it off and is ready to hook. A higher tilt doesn't burn it off as fast giving you more of an opportunity to cover more boards.
I would say to the OP I think you are matching up regardless of your track. I would work on lowering your track because tracking over the holes isn't good. Until then, everything is on the up and up.

If he's tracking the full diameter of the ball he has 0 axis tilt. -- JohnP

John P : 100% correct.

Time for a slowmo video of a two-handed, full roller swinging the entire lane with urethane...

If I am not mistaken,Belmo has used a full roller layout with urethane

Well I'm not lofting the gutter by any means. However, I am often playing between 4th and 5th arrow out to about 8.
Only under certain conditions will the ball even get out that far though, as it destroys the heads and midlane so quickly at 500 out of box finish that it starts its roll pretty early.
Today I finished standing on 34 (on the approach, not at the finish) targeting 20. Couldn't get the ball past 12, and couldn't carry to save my life. All 9 spare, and one double. It wasn't broken down enough but the heads didn't really give me much choice (other than switching balls, of course).
