Sorry, I was typing it wrong. When you use the Maxx, do you prefer spraying it. first on the ball or on the towel and then wipe the ball? I felt like the first one I bought last spring it seemed to evaporate far too quickly. Plus, it smelled just like nail polish remover, which I found odd. When I contacted Genesis about it, they said it doesn't have a smell like that. I'm willing to try it again since I do like the Hydro and Intense cleaners.
I prefer spraying it on the ball to enable the cleaner to work on the oil and dirt before I wipe it off. I prefer doing that with all cleaners. Some oil and dirt needs time to be emulsified by the cleaner; wiping it off too soon doesn't give it chance to work.
Maxx does smell almost "dangerously" toxic to me also. I stopped using it for that reason. (Once I used it in my den and my wife, who has a terrible sense of smell, smelled it from 3 rooms away. She made me open the windows to get rid of the smell.)
I only tried it because a proven source said it was the same formula as the best cleaner I know about: Lane Masters Extreme performance cleaner. Unfortunately they stopped production; but I have a good reserve. So I'll continue using that; it has a much, much less strong smell.
Genesis Intense has a much safer smelling and is fairly effective for use immediately after or during bowling.
