Title: Get the girlfriend bowling

My girlfriend has been practicing with me for about 6 months now but she feels she is not good enough to bowl in a league.  I have explained the concept of handicap and how it helps "equal" the playing field between higher average and lower average bowlers.  But she still feels like she is not good enough to bowl in league.  During practice she has been averaging close to 130 and just this Sunday she shot her first 200(it was 220) and averaged 173 for 4 games.  She does have another handicap...she is left handed(just kidding. lol) She feels embarrassed because she still throws the occasional gutterball and isn't consistent.
I just don't know what to say or do to get her to bowl in a mixed league with me.  I currently just bowl in a scratch league and wanted to do a "fun" mixed league with her.  Any ideas or suggestions on what I could say to her to change her mind?

Tell her that bowling league is just more time that you two will get to spend together each week. Worth a shot!

Whats next, you going to take her golfing with you too?  Take your free time when you can get it man.  5 to 10 years from now you will be happy that you did!!

Tell her that there's a guy in my league that has muscles on his muscles and he's averaging 90. Yes, 90.

Girlfriend + bowling = No Good.

If you two are not getting along the night of bowling, it can make it very ugly for the two of you and everybody around you. Just my opinion, but wait until you have been together long enough to put a disagreement aside for the team.

take her and have her watch some of the other womens leagues.

6 months is nothing really.  Tell her keep playing and pretty soon she'll be fine and more consistent if she keeps working on it.

Try one of the short 12 week unsanctioned "fun" leagues as a trial.  If she doesn't like it, it's only 12 weeks...

I got my wife started in a no-tap league to start off, by the time that was over we joined a mixed league, and she loves it..
I enjoy bowling with the misses, and yes it is away to spend time together doing something we both like to do..
