Title: Gloves?
Post by: thewhiz on May 28, 2017, 03:10:15 AM
Was wondering if anyone has had success using a bowling glove.  How do they help you?  What kind of glove is the best?

I used a Robbie's for about 25 years with great success.  Switched to a turbo Bulldog about 8 or 9 years ago.  I like it because it gives me nice wrist support without restricting my ability to tweak my hand position

I use the Brunswick Command X now for about 5 years. Keeps my wrist pretty much straight and doesn't allow me to turn my wrist causing me to over rev.  I use it approximately 85% of the time. Good luck in your quest for the right glove for you.

Using gloves for 2 days now, I  avoided 15% of blisters. ;D

If you are having blisters, you need to have your fit checked.

I wear gloves off and on. Gloves with and without the metal brace on the back side of the glove. The gloves by ELITE bowling are the tackiest gloves out there. It helps me secure the ball in the palm of my hand and makes holding the ball more comfortable.

Naked hand bowling isn't a problem, I have better feel with more direct contact with the ball. But, after several blocks my hand can get "lazy" and I tend to lose it at the bottom. Wearing a glove helps in this situation for me. Or when I have hand/wrist soreness from a long day at work I put on a glove.

I've tried other brand gloves for many years, Storm and Ebonite to name a few... the only gloves I like so far are the ones from ELITE. The only issue with these gloves are the material where the straps goes around peels off easily. More on the glove with the metal brace.

Lastly, I don't know for sure if this is scientifically proven, but when I don't wear a glove during bowling my hand and fingers (not all) are fatigue and a bit stiff. When I do wear the glove and even bowl more than 3 games is a day, my hand isn't as tired or sore. Though, I prefer to bowl without any gloves.
