got a drilling question...
« on: February 19, 2008, 03:49:14 PM »
If you're a cranker, average speed (15-16), high tracker, why does it seem like the label leverage drilling works well? I've seen bowlers put this drilling on many balls, on symmetricals w/cg in palm, pin above & right of ring, and asymmetrical, where the mb is on the trackside. thoughts? Most of the balls used seem to have lower rgs, higher differentials. I was told it's a tamer drilling, and its put on stronger balls or various combinations for various reactions.

From what I've seen, it controls backends quite well for high rev players.

It is actually a quite strong drill.

B/c it provides an early controllable reaction with continuation on the backend.

Well I think my next ball will have this drilling on it, maybe on a stronger cover ball or at least one made for med-heavy, for my THS which is synthetic lanes w/a heavier load of oil.

It's a pretty bad idea to put the mass bias in the track whether you're a cranker or not though.  Makes the ball do funky stuff.

Really?  I've noticed a lot of balls drilled like this, even diagrams from manufacturers as well.
